CLASSES FOR STUDENTS

The Gohan Society offers unique programs for high school students. Through classes on Japanese cuisine, we impart lessons on seasonality, creating balance in a meal, appreciation of another culture, and the principles of true hospitality.

The goal of our school programs is to encourage a lifelong curiosity about food and food culture through experiential cooking lessons. Japanese cuisine offers an unparalleled lens to explore taste preferences and profiles, eating rituals and behaviors, as well as a myriad of cooking techniques.

CLASSES FOR EDUCATORS

Gohan Society offers educators hands-on opportunities to learn about Japanese cuisine and culture year-round. In our Professional Development Program, we invite teachers, nonprofit educators, and others to learn more about Japanese cooking and food culture. It is a great way for educators to build their comfort level in the kitchen and learn skills that they can then impart in their own classroom.
