New York Chefs Celebrate Japan: A Benefit for The Gohan Society

The Gohan Society is proud to announce our benefit, New York Chefs Celebrate Japan, at the Exclusive Meredith 4th Floor Lounge, located at 225 Liberty Street in downtown Manhattan, on Wednesday, October 10, 2018. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for VIP ticket holders; general admission begins at 7:15 p.m.

To purchase tickets, please click this link: https://gohanbenefit.brownpapertickets.com.

The benefit will be a spectacular event featuring the finest chefs in New York City and premium Wagyu beef, tuna, yellowtail, and other delicacies from Japan. We are proud to honor Michelin Star Chefs Michael Anthony of Gramercy Tavern in New York City and Shin Takagi of the renowned Zeniya in Kanazawa, Japan, which will be featured on an upcoming episode of Andrew Zimmern’s television show “Bizarre Foods: Delicious Destinations” on the Travel Channel on Saturday, October 6. The Japanese Ambassador to the United Nations will present the chefs with the prestigious Gohan Society Washoku Award.

Chef Anthony and Chef Takagi have collaborated in the past, and they are both active supporters of The Gohan Society’s U.S.-Japan Culinary Cultural Exchange Chefs Scholarship Program. They embody the spirit of collaboration between the U.S. and Japan.

Ticket prices are $500 for VIP and $350 for General Admission. VIP ticket holders will be treated to an elegant welcome reception at 6:30 p.m., 45 minutes before General Admission ticket holders, and will receive a gift bag that includes exclusive items.

To purchase tickets, please click this link: https://gohanbenefit.brownpapertickets.com.

Proceeds will benefit our scholarship program, which allows us to send U.S.-based chefs to Japan, where they will experience a truly genuine and unforgettable culinary adventure. Don’t miss this opportunity to taste premium Japanese ingredients in dishes prepared by some of the finest chefs in New York!
